Explanation of Figurative Gesture Paintings
This on-going series of figurative works is a collection of paintings created at the DeCordova Museum school in Lincoln Massachusetts where I study in a course, "Abstraction with the Figure," under the direction of Timothy Harney. These acrylic paintings are short studies, usually completed in 30 minutes.
The picture on the left is the platform on which the model poses. The fabric and wooden forms are important elements used to inform the artist about spatial relationships and composition.
